For the first time ever in company history, Woogas took to the streets to celebrate Christopher Street Day (known as Gay Pride for the non-Berliners reading) on July 28th. It was a triumphant celebration of support for our employees and community, and we were extremely proud to be a part of Pride.

Attending Christopher Street Day inspired a group of colleagues to host a Brown Bag lunch in honor of Pride the day before. They left the stage to some LGBT+ employees sharing their personal stories, and throwing in some interesting facts about the movement’s history and why Pride is still needed today afterall.

“I’m very proud of my colleagues who were incredibly brave to talk about their coming out and the challenges and struggles they encounter in their day-to-day life, despite having equal rights on paper. And I’m also very proud to work at a company that creates an environment in which my colleagues feel safe to share these personal stories in front of the whole company and feel respected.” Susan Alma, Head of Localization at Wooga

And then we marched together through the streets of Berlin as part of the Christopher Street Day parade. Have a sneak peak to the wonderful day that we have spent together.

Fostering and promoting diversity and inclusion is something very close to our hearts at Wooga and even more importantly also key to our success. We’re proud about the fact that our games are played by a variety of different people from all over the world and even prouder that the character casts of our games reflect this diversity. We do though still have work to do when it comes to the diversity of our workforce, but we’re pushing hard to make progress and aspire high. So if you feel like joining us and help us with this progress, check out our open positions at wooga.com/jobs.
